Diary this date: Matariki Breakfast – You Are Invited

We are celebrating Matariki (Maori New Year) with breakfast for all tamariki (children), whanau and parents in our school hall on Tuesday 25 June, arriving at 7.15am for a 7.30am start. Children are learning some Waiata and will perform these for you. You don’t need to bring any food along, however you will need to bring a cereal bowl, spoon, and cup. We look forward to having you join us. After breakfast is finished you can collect your child’s dishes up, and leave your child/ren here ready for the start of school. More information will come out in a newsletter closer to the time.

Teacher Strike Wednesday

Thank you so much for your understanding and support of the teacher strike day yesterday … anyone

driving through Riversdale between 10am and 10.25am would have seen us outside the supermarket/

butcher. We then joined all the teachers in the Gore area for their action. I will keep you informed of progress and next steps in our negotiation process.

Northern Cross Country

Children who qualified to attend were given a letter yesterday. Miss Przewieda will be going with the Riversdale team. Keep training. Our children have the advantage of having already run on the course

so know it.

Sorry folks, that this is a day late ….

Thursday really zoomed past, and I was so disappointed I missed a fantastic assembly! I had a meeting with the Ministry of Education property adviser at 11am, and then my appraiser at 1.30pm. If you were a parent that got an appraisal form and haven’t yet returned it to the office, Ros McQuillan-Mains would really appreciate these back … to date she has 12 out of the 30 sent

home, returned.

Riversdale Junior Netball

If anyone has any trophies at home, could they please return them to the school office.
