Riversdale School Young Achievers 2020
Meg Miller and Amelia Nicholson were recognized for their achievements at school and beyond on Monday evening by the Rotary Club of Gore. We are very grateful to the Rotary Club for hosting this event for our outstanding Year 8 children in Eastern Southland.
It was a lovely evening, with many very proud parents and whanau. Hearing the range of achievements of our young people was inspiring.
Community Assembly
We will be holding one Community Assembly this term on Thursday 3 December. It will be our last Community Assembly for 2020, hosted by our Year 8 students.
We will have a range of books available for a donation. These books have been culled from the School Library due to insufficient space on our shelves. We had to make room for new books arriving and we would like to see these well loved books go off to a new home.
School Values
At Riversdale School children are awarded House Points for displaying the school values of; respectful, responsible and resilient. Children are working towards achieving values targets.
50 House Points = Bronze Values Award
75 House Points = Silver Values Award
100 House Points = Gold Values Award

Science Roadshow
Last Thursday Room 7 and Room 1 went to the Science Roadshow. They had a great morning exploring what they had to offer.

11 to 15 December - Room 1 on camp at Deep Cove.
Wednesday 16 December Great School watertight. Thursday 17 December - School Picnic at Dolamore Park. Friday 18 December - Last school day of the 2020 year.

Home and School Association Meeting
Next Tuesday 17 November there will be a Home and School meeting at 7.30pm in the School Staffroom. Everyone is welcome to come along to the meeting to finalise 2020 fundraising and discuss fundraising ideas for next year. It would be great to see some new faces supporting the wonderful work the Home and School do.
Pool
The pool will be open from this Friday 13 November. Public can use the pool outside of school hours and on the weekend. Keys for the season can be purchased from the Challenge Service Station for $80. A disclaimer, and rules sheet, must be signed on purchase.
